Just a quick thing about an article I read yesterday on Download.com Blog called Windows Starter Kit listing a lot of very useful freewares in various fields, I had already some installed & I have alternatives for others or just don’t need them. So from the list I only downloaded & installed two programs: Process Explorer & Launchy.
I don’t know about you, but for me this shortcut is really frustrating, I never use it but I often hit it by mistake while typing something & lose everything I wrote.
Hmmm, a lot of ideas but rare time to post here … anyways, back to to topic, RapidShare.com has an upload limit of 100 mb but often the uploaded files are much bigger, packing them in split archive files allows that .. the problem is when you want to download a file of a few gigabytes (split to 10s of files) & all the links are just textual which means you can’t just click on them to start your download, but you have to copy then paste them on your browser’s address bar one by one.
I’ve just got new PC & using all my time setting it up & installing all the applications I had in the old computer, restoring my profiles etc. I noticed that the version of XP I have in this one is different from the old, except on Safari browser,there is no anti-aliasing in rendering fonts, if you don’t know what anti-alias is, there’s a page about it in Wikipedia: (more…)
W00t! Finally found out why!
I thought the word “Turing” was an adjective, but when I looked in the dictionary, I didn’t find it, this was some time ago but I didn’t care till today.
I had a movie in MPEG format (extension .mpg) of 1H 20min length & 1.6gb size, usually DivX files with similar length take less than 700mb, so I went googling & looking for a way to convert the film, I first tried VirtualDub & VirtualDubMod but for some reason I got a big file & worse a black screen .. I went searching again to find a link to “Dr. DivX”, one problem is that the doctor was away! Damn him!
I’ve uploaded zip files before using Firefox & even to iStockphoto, but don’t know what happened to the browser & how settings changed … Two days ago I couldn’t upload & was getting an error message saying the zip file was invalid, I first thought the problem was coming from the file & the way I packed my vectors in it, but then I browsed the forums & found out this answer: (more…)
I spent a big part of today searching, browsing, downloading, modifying & uploading smileys to a forum.
So today is March the 3rd, the day Alexander Graham Bell was born in year 1847, Bell is recognized universally as the inventor of the Telephone, a revolutionary communication mean of the modern era.
Today I knew that Hackers, will not try only to steal your online accounts that are worth some money, but even some really less important ones - in a hacker’s eyes I mean - like your ID in a forum for example!
