My microphone under Windows 7 didn’t work since I installed the OS, I tried to update the sound driver for one compatible with Windows 7, an official driver I got from ASUS website, but it didn’t solve the problem. Only today i got the genius idea of uninstalling the official driver & guess what? Windows 7 default driver is way better!

I’m playing with my new VPS hosting & trying doing some tasks through SSH; but before being able to do this, I had to setup my SSH connection.
1. Generate SSH Certificate
a. 1st thing you need to do is to create a SSH certificate in your server, I did this in my cPanel / WHM. Just browse around to find SSH icon, then the Generate a New Key link. You will be asked to give your new key a name & password, then Key Type & Key Size (I used the default values here DSA / 1024, you may experiment with other values). Next click on Generate Key.
I thought files with .tar.gz extension were just like compressed files with a .zip or .rar extension, but in fact they are a bit different.
.tar.gz are two extensions & not one, which means this kind of files are created using two processes (& probably two tools).
Like me, you maybe didn’t like the new way the Taskbar works under Windows 7, big icons, no descriptions, & the annoying thing (for me at least), grouping all the windows of a program systematically, which was confusing me & forcing me to make extra mouse moves & clicks.
The Gmail Notifier is an application that alerts you when you have new Gmail messages. It displays an icon in your system tray to let you know if you have unread Gmail messages, and shows you their subjects, senders and snippets, all without your having to open a web browser. The Notifier is in beta. Just a quick thing about an article I read yesterday on Download.com Blog called Windows Starter Kit listing a lot of very useful freewares in various fields, I had already some installed & I have alternatives for others or just don’t need them. So from the list I only downloaded & installed two programs: Process Explorer & Launchy.
I don’t know about you, but for me this shortcut is really frustrating, I never use it but I often hit it by mistake while typing something & lose everything I wrote.
Hmmm, a lot of ideas but rare time to post here … anyways, back to to topic, RapidShare.com has an upload limit of 100 mb but often the uploaded files are much bigger, packing them in split archive files allows that .. the problem is when you want to download a file of a few gigabytes (split to 10s of files) & all the links are just textual which means you can’t just click on them to start your download, but you have to copy then paste them on your browser’s address bar one by one.
